John 9: 4-12
(John 9: 4-12) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is
day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and
made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the
clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way
therefore, and washed, and came seeing. The neighbours therefore,
and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that
sat and begged? Some said, This is he:
others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. Therefore said they unto
him, How were thine eyes opened? He answered and said, A man
that is called Jesus made clay, and
anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool
of Siloam, and
wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight. Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know
not.
The story of an
unfortunate man who has been blind since birth is introduced. This man was born
blind. And it must have been like this for decades. It was difficult just to
look ahead, but I was living as a beggar sitting on the street. Jesus said,
"Spit on the ground, make mud, apply it to the eyes of the blind, and go
to the pool of Siloam and wash." How many people can accept this
statement?
It's uncomfortable
because I can't see it, and I'm about to die, but it's not that I put mud on
it, and that's not even floating water right next to it. However, what is so
great is this blind man's faith. The blind man came back with his eyes open.
What Jesus wanted from the beginning was in John 9:41, “Jesus
said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We
see; therefore your sin remaineth. "He tells us that everyone is blind by
spirit. It means that when you realize that you are blind, you will discover
Christ and open your spiritual eyes. But people did not find Christ because the
spirit died.
