John 12:37-40
(John 12:37-40)
But though he had done so many
miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Esaias the prophet
might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to
whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not believe,
because that Esaias said again, He
hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see
with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I
should heal them.
This is what
the Apostle Paul said at the end of the book of Acts. People's thoughts believe
that repentance occurs automatically when they receive the power of the Holy
Spirit. In the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, and
it warns that the work of the Holy Spirit ends as indicated in the title, as
mentioned in Isaiah. So, this salvation goes to the Gentiles. Peter and the
apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit and preached the word of God, but
still, in chapter 28, they passed on to the Gentiles. So Paul says, "Go to
the Gentiles."
In Mark
4:1-10, Jesus told the parable of sowing seeds, and in verse 11, ``And he said
unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but
unto them that are without. , all these things are done in parables: 』. And in verse 12, "That seeing they may see, and not perceive;
and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be
converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 』The
seeds sown on the side of the road in the four fields are pecked by the word of
God, and the bird is the devil. It is the devil's interference that prevents
you from understanding the Bible.
The second is
a stone field. It is because the word of God was planted, but the stone in the
soil was not broken first. The sprout of God's word has grown, but it dries out
when the sun shines. It means that when persecutions and difficulties due to
the Word come, they cannot pass. The third is a field of thorns. It means that
although the word of God was planted, it cannot grow because of the trembling
of thorns (greedy). Covetousness means that the word of God does not enter the
heart because of the world's anxieties and wealth. These three types of fields
are fields that cannot be saved. The last field is a good field. It is a field
that is fruitful with patience. It means that when the word of God is planted,
Saint must endure to the end.
A good field will be
fruitful thirty times, sixty times, and a hundred times. This field is the
field of salvation.
Jesus said, "We hear but do not understand; see, see but do not know"
because "That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may
hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their
sins should be forgiven them. ' It means that no matter how many times you see
and hear the Bible without much repentance, the life of being born again will
not arise. Only when you are born again will you receive forgiveness of sins.
It means that you must repent, but you will turn around and receive forgiveness
of your sins. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the
Lord; It means that the forgiveness of sins does not come first. These things
are done only when you repent.
The book of
Revelation is about seven churches. Among the contents, the most frequently
mentioned is the word “repent”. Repentance is everything to achieve salvation. When you repent,
things happen that can lead to justification. However, they are cut off because
they cannot repent. In John 12:37-40, ``But though he had done so many miracles
before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Esaias the
prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report.
? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not
believe, because that Esaias said again, He hath blinded their eyes, and
hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand
with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. '.
